Established: 1980 - A year after the national organization was formed.

Current Membership: 360 Member Firms

Where They Practice: Long Island; Nassau County and western towns of Suffolk County.

Vision: Enhance the stature of Certified Public Accountants and strive for excellence.

Mission: Advocate on issues important to members; Anticipate, monitor and respond to changes in the profession; Promote exchange of ideas and information among members and provide means for members to develop and maintain necessary skills.

Who Should Join: Firms in the public practice of accountancy that are 100% owned by CPAs.

Annual Dues: Sole Practitioner = $230
2-3 Professional Firm = $260
4-10 Professional Firm = $420
11+ Professional Firm = $745

Best Known For: The largest single event for financial advisors in the northeast. Annual three-day Tax Symposium attracts 600 – 700 CPAs, attorneys, investment and insurance professionals daily. 2010 event: Nov. 17, 18, 19 at Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, LI.

Usual Meeting Places: Evening Dinner/Education Programs -- Holiday Inn, Plainview (LIE Exit: Sunnyside Blvd.), 5:30 – 9 p.m. Morning Breakfast/Practice Management Meetings – On Parade Diner, Woodbury, 8-10 a.m.

Frequency: Monthly. Dinner meetings, first Thursday; Breakfast meetings, fourth Wednesday.

Meeting Costs: Dinners – Members, $50 with reservation, $60 at door. Non-members, $75 and $85. Breakfasts: Members, $20 with reservation, $30 at door; Non-members, $30 and $40.
